Collection: Bananas

Chiquita bananas are almost all Cavendish bananas, which are the same variety exported from Panama and other Central American countries. 🍌 Interestingly, the banana industry in Panama helped pioneer modern refrigerated shipping—starting in the early 1900s, bananas were packed in ice-filled ships to stay fresh for export.

Even cooler: the iconic Chiquita logo with “Miss Chiquita” was created in the 1940s in Panama and quickly became one of the first globally recognized fruit mascots, helping make the banana a household staple worldwide.
