This one isn't really a bag. It's a square of printed cloth and a strap, and what happens next is up to you.

Fold it one way and it's a tote. Unfold it at the beach and it's a picnic blanket. Throw it around your shoulders when the wind picks up and it's a shawl. Wrap a gift in it and the wrapping is the gift. Centuries-old idea, brand new fabric.

Made to order in Montreal, one at a time, by people who know quality. The fabric is 100% polyester heavy crepe — substantial enough to hold a fold and carry weight, fluid enough to drape properly when you're wearing it. Printed by sublimation, which bonds the ink into the fibre instead of coating it, so the art never cracks, never peels, and — this is the part worth repeating — never fades in the wash.

The hardware is where you can tell someone cared. Heavy gunmetal-black metal loops, finished with steel rivets, not stitching that eventually gives. The straps look and feel like leather and contain none of it — that took real work to source. Three colours: navy, black, brown. Two lengths, standard or extra long, depending on whether you want it in your hand or across your body.
